Susan Titus Osborn  is the director of the Christian Communicator Manuscript Critique Service where she heads a staff of 18 editors. She has authored 29 books, as well as numerous articles. She is a member of the Christian Leaders and Speakers Services (CLASS) staff and is also a CLASS speaker. Susan is a member of Advanced Christian Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA) and is a judge for the Christy Awards for Christian fiction each year. She has taught at over 145 writers' conferences across the US and in seven foreign countries. Susan lives with her husband, Dick, in Fullerton, California. They have five children and twelve grandchildren. Susan is an author, representing B&H Publishing Group for  all their book lines, New Hope Publishers for nonfiction books, and Howard Books for their fiction line.

Christian Communicator Staff:

Candy Arrington is a contributing writer for Focus on the Family's parenting publications and a freelance editor. Her publishing credits include hundreds of articles, stories, and devotionals in publications such as Writer's Digest, Today's Christian, Marriage Partnership, The Upper Room, The Lookout, Encounter, War Cry, CBN.com, and Chicken Soup for the Soul. A degree in English and years of writing experience give her an eye for grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, content, and flow. Candy is a CLASS graduate, a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and is coauthor of Aftershock: Help, Hope, and Healing in the Wake of Suicide - B & H Publishing Group.

Jan Coleman began her writing career in a barn, the setting for the first interview as a feature reporter for a weekly newspaper. She also penned a humor column and "learned to write tight and to a deadline." She then worked at the California State Capitol as a media consultant for three state Senators. She is now a full-time author of three books, hundreds of magazine pieces, video scripts, and dozens of stories in compilations like Chicken Soup for the Soul. She often speaks at writers’ conferences. "I love to cheerlead new writers as they learn to sharpen their craft and get their God-inspired message to readers." She lives in Auburn, California, with husband, Carl, and one snooty cat.

Sheryl Ann Crawford is the author of nine books for children and dozens of children's magazine stories. She enjoys writing on assignment for Clubhouse Jr. (Focus on the Family). Sheryl is published with Scholastic, Cook Communications, Standard, Word, Harcourt/Trophies, Highlights, BabyBug, American Girl, and the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Red Cross Bulletin. Her story Kitten's Climb is part of a reading assessment booklet (Harcourt/Trophies) used in schools throughout the U.S.  Sheryl has taught beginning writing classes at conferences and her local community college. Sheryl loves helping children's writers refine their skills!  In her spare time she is a Volunteer Red Cross Disaster Registered Nurse for her community. Sheryl is happily married to Bob, has two grown sons and two granddaughters.

John DeSimone is a novelist who enjoys working with fiction writers who seek to polish their craft. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree from Spalding University. He is also the co-director of the Orange County Christian Writer’s Fellowship. He’s the author of Leonardo’s Chair released in January 2005, and Accidental Son which will be released in 2007, both with River Oak Publishers. John believes it’s important to nourish the creative spark in fiction writers by positive reinforcement of their natural storytelling skills. He also believes it’s important to build mastery of storytelling craft by breaking down craft elements, often citing examples from contemporary fiction writers and giving specific techniques writers can use to improve

Sharon Norris Elliott loves the Lord, and her passion is teaching via the written and spoken word. She has written books, published articles and devotions, and edited magazines, all while sustaining her teaching career.  Her most recent published work, What? Teenagers in the Bible? (Pleasant Word Publishers, 2003), is inspiring teenagers across the country to turn to the Bible because it's for them, too. Sharon's also a popular retreat, conference, and youth event speaker who motivates and encourages her audiences. Sharon and her husband, James, are raising two teenage sons, Matthew and Mark. They are members of South Los Angeles Baptist Church.

Gwen Ellis has served in editorial capacities at Aglow Publications, Focus on the Family, Servant Publications, and Inspirio and Zonderkidz at Zondervan. She has written 13 books, including Dress Like a Million Bucks without Spending It, Decorating on a Shoestring, and The Big Book of Family Fun (all published by Revell). While living in Colorado, Gwen was diagnosed with cancer and spent a long and difficult year fighting the disease. God gave her back her hair and her life, and it was at that time she decided to live the rest of her life without fear. Gwen is the mother of two adult children and one granddaughter.

Linda Gilden knows the tremendous impact and power of words and loves helping new writers discover the joy in choosing just the right ones. She is the author of the “Love Notes” series and Mommy Pick-Me-Ups (New Hope Publishers). Linda has written and ghostwritten many other books and hundreds of articles appearing in Focus on the Family, Focus on Your Child, HomeLife, Family Fun, The Lookout, Discipleship Journal, Writers Digest, and others. She is a freelance editor for Winepress Publishing and teaches regularly at national writer’s conferences. Linda leads a writing group and is managing editor of The Encourager, a monthly magazine of First Baptist Spartanburg, SC where she lives with her husband. They have three children.

Michele Howe is a freelance writer and book reviewer for Publishers Weekly, CBA Marketplace, and CCM Magazine. She has published over 800 articles and reviews for over 50 different publications. Michele is also the author of eight books for women and families. Her newest books are a prayer series for women published by Jossey-Bass which include: Prayers to Nourish a Woman's Heart, Prayers for Homeschool Moms, Prayers of Comfort and Strength, and Prayers for New and Expecting Moms. Michele also writes a women's lifestyle column titled, "Embracing Life's Curves" offered through Syndicated Writers of America at http://www.buystory.com/. Michele and her family live in LaSalle Michigan.

Kathi Macias is an award winning writer who has authored fourteen books, one a bestseller for Regal Books. She has also edited, rewritten, or ghostwritten approximately 100 others and has published numerous articles, short stories, and poems. A former newspaper columnist and string reporter, Kathi has taught creative and business writing at various venues. She is a popular speaker at churches, women’s clubs and retreats, and writers’ conferences, and she has appeared on several radio and TV programs. A mother and grandmother, Kathi lives in Homeland, California, with her husband, Al.

Roger C. Palms is former Editor of Decision magazine. He is the author of 15 books, some of which have been translated into seven other languages. His most recent book is Your Best Years (WIPF and Stock Publishers, 2003) He has also written hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles. For 16 years he was the speaker on "Something for You," a nationally syndicated radio program. He is a teacher at writer’s conferences, in colleges, and in theological seminaries in the United States and other countries. He began his writing career when he was a pastor and campus chaplain. He and his wife, Andrea, have two children and two grandchildren.

Allison Pittman reads a manuscript with an eye that sees the potential on every page. She can find the pulse of a story or the heart of an article, having honed these skills for the past several years serving as co-president of the Christian Writers Group of the Greater San Antonio Area. Her group publishes an annual devotion book for each Advent season. A CLASS graduate, Allison Pittman is the author of Ten Thousand Charms, (Multnomah, 2006). Despite the well-intentioned advice from editors, agents and other authors to “not quit her day job,” Allison walked away from a stable, 17-year teaching career to pursue writing full time. Ten Thousand Charms is the first installment of the “Crossroads of Grace” series, with two additional titles under contract.

Barbara A. Robidoux  has been a member of the TCC staff for 15 years. She has a BA in English and Secondary Education. Barbara also works as a professional proofreader for legal stenographers. Clients call Barbara their writing coach as she works closely with them to help polish their work into a publishable product. Encouragement and experienced line-editing help dreams become reality. She edited and helped rewrite Castaway Kid for Rob Mitchell, which has been published by Focus on the Family Books. Her articles have appeared in numerous national and international magazines with requests for permission to reprint from editors of other magazines and leaders in local church ministries. Working with writers to produce publishable works that glorify our Lord brings her great joy.

Dianne Sargent enjoys the diversity of her position with Randall House Publications as assistant to the editor-in-chief, a position she has held since 1997. Her duties encompass oversight of the editorial process of 30 Sunday school curriculum products produced quarterly, ranging from preschool to adult. She holds a MA in English from Tennessee State University, and on occasion has taught English at Free Will Baptist Bible College. While writing remains an interest, the art of refining someone else’s thoughts is her first love. She considers her greatest accomplishments to be her two sons, Brian and Chris. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee

Christy Scannell is a freelance editor and writer. For ten years, she was editorial director at Rainbow Publishers/Legacy Press, where she oversaw the acquisition and publication of Christian nonfiction  books for children and teachers. During her tenure, she developed and edited over 100 books including the best-selling “God and Me!” and “Gotta Have God” devotional series and “The Christian  Girl’s Guide to…” series.

Lee Warren is an author with more than 250 writing credits in magazines and newspapers such as Decision, Discipleship Journal. Light & Life, Sports Spectrum, The Pathway, and War Cry. He’s the former Christianity Today online singles columnist, and he’s the current sports columnist for his local Christian newspaper. His first book, Single Servings: 90 Devotions to Feed Your Soul, was published in 2005 by Revell. Two more nonfiction books will be published in 2006. He is currently working on several novels.

Tama Westman creatively captures a client’s vision to deliver positive results. Her innate ability to ask the tough questions, see a project from many perspectives and provide quality service in a timely manner makes her popular with clients. A seasoned journalist with more than 600 published credits, her versatile work includes news, features, columns, devotionals, annual reports, newsletters, web content, advertising, copywriting and editing services. Tama teaches creative writing at Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, and holds workshops at writer’s conferences throughout the country. She has a knack for helping writers to successfully negotiate their next steps quickly and efficiently. She is a CLASS graduate and recipient of the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award.

Emily White-Youree is a freelance editor and writer who has written articles for many magazines including DS News, CLEAR Horizon, Pasadena Magazine, and Together with God. She also authored Hot Links: Creative Ways to Connect Kids to Christ and co-authored, with Paul Borthwick, Within Reach. As an editor, she has proofread and polished several Bible studies, trade books, and magazines for a variety of publishers. Emily's career in publishing totals nine years, with seven of those years at Randall House Publications where she worked as assistant editor for CLEAR Direction and CLEAR Horizon magazines, acquisitions editor for the book division, and TEAM Church coordinator. She lives in Texas with her husband.
